iPad Repair and Insurance Policy

All repairs and claims are managed by the Blackhawk School District Technology Department.

Deductible Terms

• Premium: $40 per school year, per student

• Deductibles: $25 for the first occurrence, $50 for any subsequent occurrence(s)

• Family Maximum: $80 per family, per year

What Is Covered?

• All physical components of the iPad

• Any accidental damage

• First theft of a device (with a valid police report)

What Is Not Covered?

• Loss of the iPad

• Loss of iPad peripherals (case, charging cable, or power adapter)

• Reasonable wear and tear (e.g., scratches, dents, worn case)

• Damage resulting from reckless abuse or willful conduct

• Submersion or liquid damage of any kind

• Second occurrence of theft

Cost of Uncovered Items/Repairs

• Replacement device and peripheral costs will be based on Apple’s current pricing.

• Repair costs will be based on pricing from an Apple-authorized repair company.

Estimated replacement/repair costs as of August 1, 2025:

• Full replacement cost of iPad: $299.00

• Replacement iPad keyboard case: $99.99

• Broken glass/LCD repair: $239.00

• LCD repair: $199.00

• Logic board repair: $179.00

• Charging port repair: $89.00

• Headphone jack repair: $59.00

• Dent removal/repair: $59.00

Process for Service or Repair

1. All damage must be reported to Blackhawk School District immediately.

2. A loaner device may be issued while service or repairs are being completed.
