The Blackhawk School District complies with the requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). FERPA affords parents and students eighteen years of age and older certain rights with respect to a student’s educational records.
- The right to inspect and review the student’s educational records within 45 days from the date a district receives a request for access.
- The right to request the amendment of the student’s educational records that the parent believes are inaccurate or violate the privacy or other rights of the child.
- The right to consent disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in the student’s education records, except to the extent that federal and state law authorize disclosure.
