The Facilities Department of the Blackhawk School District is dedicated to providing safe, clean, and well-maintained learning environments across all district properties. The department oversees the management and operation of four school buildings within a five-mile radius, totaling approximately 500,000 square feet of interior space. Located on the same property as Blackhawk High School at 500 Blackhawk Road in Beaver Falls, the department is led by Director of Facilities, Darrin Fleischman, and is staffed by 21 custodians and 5 maintenance employees.
In addition to daily maintenance, the department is responsible for managing around 1,500 maintenance requests annually, as well as the upkeep of extensive infrastructure, including 28 rooftop HVAC units, 4 chillers, 4 boiler plants, 581,000 square feet of parking lot, 6 baseball/softball fields, 5 tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a lighted stadium with track and artificial turf.
