Our curriculum is guided by the Pennsylvania Department of Education standards, which serve as the foundation for instructional planning and student learning across all grade levels and subject areas.

To ensure our curriculum remains relevant, coherent, and aligned with best practices, the district follows a six-year curriculum review cycle. This structured process allows our educators to systematically examine each content area, realign instruction to meet updated standards, and evaluate curriculum implementation for fidelity and effectiveness in the classroom.

As part of our commitment to transparency and continuous improvement, the Blackhawk School District uses Atlas, a web-based curriculum management platform. This tool helps us organize, share, and maintain curricular documents in an accessible and consistent manner across the district.

To support curricular alignment and inform instructional decision-making, the district maintains a District Assessment Calendar. This calendar outlines key assessment windows throughout the year, ensuring that assessment practices are intentionally aligned to curriculum goals and provide meaningful data to guide instruction and support student learning.
