The Blackhawk School District Food Services Department is committed to providing students with nutritious, well-balanced meals that support their health, growth, and academic success. Our program operates under the guidelines of the federally funded National School Lunch and Breakfast Program, ensuring that all meals meet strict nutritional standards.

In alignment with the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, our menus are carefully designed to meet age-appropriate calorie limits, offer whole grains, and include a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Students are encouraged to make healthy choices, selecting at least three of the five meal components offered—including a required serving of fruits or vegetables—for a reimbursable meal.

Each day, students in grades K–12 have access to a diverse selection of fresh and canned fruits, as well as hot and fresh vegetables, served in a convenient “Grab N Go” style. The Food Services team plays an essential role in supporting student wellness and fostering lifelong healthy eating habits.
