Blackhawk School District uses Skyward New Student Online Enrollment to streamline the registration process. This secure system allows you to complete and submit all required enrollment forms electronically.

If your child will be 5 years old by September 1, they are eligible to start kindergarten in the fall. 

Kindergarten Registration Days

Kindergarten registration will be held in May each year at the Blackhawk Intermediate School building. In early April, families will receive the opportunity to schedule a 45–60 minute appointment. During this time:

• Your child will participate in a brief assessment.

• Our staff will collect all required documentation (see list below).

• Nurses and secretaries will review immunizations and residency paperwork.

Please note: These plans may be adjusted based on public health guidance. Families who have registered will be kept informed of any changes.

Required Documentation for Kindergarten Enrollment

To complete your child’s enrollment, please bring all of the following items to your registration appointment:

1. Student’s birth certificate

2. Student’s immunization records
   Students may not begin school until immunization records are on file.

3. Parent/Guardian driver’s license

4. Proof of residency (Must include items from both A and B below):

   • A. Lease, Mortgage Statement, or Home Purchase Contract

     • Lease must be signed by both parties and include dates of occupancy.

     • Mortgage or contract must include parent/guardian name(s) and address.

   • B. A current utility bill (electric, gas, or water only)

5. Custody documents (if applicable)

Step 2: Complete the New Student Online Enrollment Application
