School Counseling News and Happenings

Welcome

The Blackhawk School Counseling Department is dedicated to supporting the academic, personal, social, and career development of every student. Our mission is to ensure that all students have access to the resources, guidance, and opportunities they need to thrive during their time at Blackhawk and beyond.

School counselors work in partnership with students, families, teachers, and the community to provide:

  • Academic Support – course selection, study skills, and strategies for success

  • College & Career Planning – exploration of post-secondary options, scholarships, and workforce readiness

  • Personal & Social Development – promoting mental wellness, conflict resolution, and positive relationships

  • Crisis Intervention & Support – assistance during challenging situations to ensure student well-being

We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where students feel valued and empowered to reach their goals. Counselors serve as advocates, mentors, and resources, guiding students through their high school journey while preparing them for future success.

Students and families are encouraged to reach out to the School Counseling Department for assistance at any time. Whether navigating academic challenges, planning for college or careers, or seeking personal support, we are here to help.

Together, we are building a strong foundation for lifelong success and well-being.
