College and Career Testing

Blackhawk High School is committed to preparing students for success beyond graduation by providing access to a variety of college and career readiness assessments. These exams help students identify strengths, explore career interests, and prepare for postsecondary pathways.

  • PSAT/NMSQT – Administered to all juniors during the school day, this exam provides practice for the SAT and may qualify students for National Merit recognition and scholarships.

  • SAT & ACT – Widely used for college admissions, these standardized tests measure critical reading, math, and writing skills. Students are encouraged to take one or both exams as part of their college application process.

  • NOCTI – For students in career and technical education (CTE) programs, the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute exam measures knowledge and skills in specific career fields.

  • ASVAB – The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery helps students explore career options, whether in the military or civilian sectors, by assessing interests and abilities.

Through these assessments, Blackhawk students gain valuable insights into their academic and career readiness while opening doors to college, career, and scholarship opportunities.
