At Blackhawk Elementary Schools, our computer classes help students build digital literacy and technology skills in a thoughtful, age-appropriate way. Starting in Kindergarten and continuing through fourth grade, students are introduced to essential tools and concepts that prepare them for success in today’s digital world.
Students practice foundational skills such as online safety, keyboard and mouse use, and basic coding. In grades 3 and 4, these skills expand to include managing a digital presence, submitting assignments through district learning management platforms, and exploring creativity with projects such as game design. Students also strengthen their abilities in keyboarding, word processing, and responsible technology use to support both academic and personal growth.
Our goal is to ensure every student develops confidence and competence with technology—while also having fun and discovering new ways to learn, create, and problem-solve in the digital space.
