Patterson Primary School is a warm, welcoming learning environment designed to support the growth of our youngest students in grades Kindergarten through 2. These early years are a vital time for building foundational skills, fostering a love of learning, and helping children develop socially, emotionally, and academically.

Located within the Blackhawk School District, Patterson Primary is staffed by nurturing educators who understand the unique needs of early learners. Through play-based learning, interactive lessons, and a focus on the whole child, we create engaging experiences that build confidence, independence, and curiosity.

We value strong partnerships with families and believe that collaboration between home and school is essential to student success. A Message from the Principal

Dear Blackhawk Families,

It is both an honor and a privilege to introduce myself as the new principal of Blackhawk Intermediate School and Patterson Primary School. I am incredibly excited to be a part of this wonderful school community and humbled by the opportunity to lead. I look forward to continuing the great work that our dedicated staff and students have put in to create a thriving educational environment.

As a lifelong resident and graduate of the Blackhawk School District, I take immense pride in our community. My commitment is to provide our students with the best opportunities to succeed throughout their academic journey. In 2002 I began my career in education as a middle school science teacher at Blackhawk. For the last twelve years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in various administrative roles, including as the Dean of Students and Assistant Principal at HMS, and as the Assistant Principal at BIS and Patterson Primary School.

My family and I currently reside in the district. I have a kindergarten and a third grader at BIS, as well as a fifth grader at Highland. I deeply understand and appreciate the importance of fostering a strong connection between home and school, and I look forward to working closely with you to support your children’s success.
