The 2016 National Honor Society Inductees.
April 15, 2016 --The Cleveland Heights High School’s chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) held its Annual Induction Ceremony on April 14. Fifty six sophomores and juniors were inducted in the solemn candle-light ceremony that included speeches by NHS officers describing and reflecting on the four pillars of the organization.
Alegra Steiger, Co-President, spoke about the Leadership Pillar, Flannery Jewell, Vice President, spoke about the Character Pillar, Anna Crowley, Co-President, spoke about the Service Pillar and Kelly Moore, Public Relations, spoke about the Scholarship Pillar.
Superintendent Dr. Talisa Dixon also spoke at the event, welcoming the attendees and congratulating the inductees. Technology entrepreneur Gina Drobnick, Heights Alum, '89 delivered the Keynote Address. She talked about how she uses the NHS pillars in her work.
Guidance Counselor Haethem Rasul is the HHS advisor and congratulated the students and thanked them for their devotion to the organizations mission.
Families and inductees attended a reception after the ceremony.
Sixty five current juniors and seniors are members of the Heights NHS and were in inducted as sophomores or juniors.
NHS is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students.
More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
